FAQ
-
How do you take care of a stingless bee?
The safest way to keep a nest of Stingless Bees is to leave it in its natural log. Even in experienced hands, some nests can die from the disruption of being transferred to a box. A solid natural log can provide far better insulation for a nest than a wooden hive box can do.
-
Do stingless bees need water nearby?
Remember that stingless bees do not need water, so there is no need to position the hive close to a water source. Wherever you pick should be dry and raised to protect the box (and bees) from the elements and help the bees take flight.
-
What is the purpose of the stingless bee?
Stingless bees are valuable pollinators and contribute to ecosystem health by producing essential products. These insects collect and store honey, pollen, resin, propolis, and cerumen. Honey serves as their primary carbohydrate source, while pollen provides essential proteins.
